The suspended Field is a spatial project related to our comprehension of nature, its resources and our attitude towards it. The men`s common perception of earth is defined by two paradoxical paradigms, one of earth as immobile mass of infinite weight and other as earth like a plain, two dimensional surface. Growing the fie ld, which is not tied to the ground, but floating on pulsating piece of textile in between closed walls, provokes both of those concepts. The “green” carpet undergoes the entire vegetative cycle, from sprouting to disintegration. The emergence of this artificial, yet live installation, puts the designer in a different context, in a position of a dedicated farmer. In this case, the skills are all about optimization of the density of sowing, the choice of the right sowing culture and determining the precise dosage of the irrigation. This process makes us aware of both the fragility and power of life. From one side, we witness the incredible fact that plants grow out of cloth, and from the other we face the fatal consequences of insufficient or over irrigation.

The installation was executed in the former slaughterhouse as part of D-Day festival of design.

The Sustainable Dance Floor™ is the first dance floor that captures the energy of dancing. The energy produced by movement is converted into electricity that is used to make the dance floor react to the dancer in an interactive way.
The floor provides a unique visual experience on every energy level, from ‘loading’ and ‘average’, to the maximum level of the evening: ‘ultimate high’! All visuals are a continuous real-time interaction between the clubbers on the floor, allowing every individual’s actions to contribute to the collective experience.

ENERGY EXPERIENCE
One of the most important aspects of the Sustainable Dance Floor is its feedback system: people dancing on the floor must understand that they are the ones powering the floor. The basic visual feedback are the LED lights in the floor; these light up when modules are being stepped on. The sensitivity and colors can be adjusted. Next to the floor, there can be two different feedback systems that provide the experience of the dance floor.

Short history outline
SDC started out as the upshot of a research project ‘When Nature Calls’ conducted by Enviu – innovators in sustainability and Architect Firm Döll. The result of the research project was the sustainable dance club concept, an idea that was officially launched in Rotterdam Club Off Corso in 2006 with the event ‘The Critical Mass’. At the end of 2007 SDC BV was realized with the founding of the organization and development of product prototypes. In September 2008 Club WATT in Rotterdam was opened as the first Sustainable Dance Club™ showcasing the earliest model of the Sustainable Dance Floor. In 2009 an updated version of the SDF was launched and transported all over the world for a wide variety of clients. Projects ranged from permanent installations at museums in Miami and Philadelphia to pop-up events around the globe in Vancouver(Ca), Shanghai(Ch), Salvador(Br) and Abu Dhabi(VAE).

Vision
Sustainable Dance Club™ believes that having fun and taking responsibility for our world should go hand in hand. We do not believe that profit should be the only focus of a modern society.  We want to make the world a better place while having a good time and we want everyone to join us. Therefore SDC’s vision on sustainability reads:  People, Planet, Party!

Mission
Our mission is:
‘To create personal experiences where sustainability and fun are combined. To inspire (young) people worldwide to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle.’

Netatmo, a company dedicated to designing products that monitor the weather and
environment, unveils its Urban Weather Station, a new device specifically designed for
iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that allows users to monitor indoor and outdoor environmental
elements including temperature, humidity, a i r p r e s s u r e , C O2 l e v e l s a n d m o r e .
The Netatmo Weather Station quantifies personal environments like the home and
office, and wirelessly transmits data through WiFi to the Netatmo App, which features an
intuitive, easy-to-read interface.
“Air quality and weather conditions are a daily concern for city residents around the
globe,” said Fred Potter, CEO, Netatmo.
“By integrating air quality sensors into an easy-to-use personal weather station,
specifically designed for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch we’re able to help users improve
their indoor wellness and adapt their outdoor activities – creating a better way of life for
everyone.”
With this WiFi connected Personal Weather Station, Netatmo also aims to create the
largest weather and air quality monitoring network ever established.
A key innovation in the station is its ability to evaluate indoor air confinement by measuring CO2 concentration. When C02 reaches an excessive level, the user is alerted directly on his or her iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, and can take action like ventilating his or her home.
The Air Quality conditions reported by the Netatmo App also allow users to assess the
best times for outdoor physical activity, when to commute versus drive to work and more – all instances where Air Quality is of the utmost importance.

This device detects electromagnetic fields (EMF), which can be caused by electronic hardware, telecommunication transmitters, or nearby power lines.
It could, for instance, suggest a spot at home with the least electromagnetic pollution to help you place your bed, desk or yoga mat.

The temperature and relative humidity measurements of your environment are combined and compared with our knowledge base of official (and unofficial) comfort standards. This helps you understand and change your personal climate at any moment.

This part of Lapka is designed to look for significant quantities of nitrates in raw foods and drinking water caused by residues of synthetic fertilizers. It includes a stainless steel probe for medical accuracy and enhanced durability.

Professionally precise! It reveals highly accurate information about the radioactivity near you and explains in detail whether and how it might be affecting you. Each particle is counted… and is vizualized.

Do you like ‘glamping‘? This is your site!

Snow Peak’s journey began in 1958, when our founder Yukio Yamai, an accomplished mountaineer, created his own line of superior gear out of the dissatisfaction with available products.  It is our birth place and our founders heritage that we look to when ever we sit down at the drawing board and create our next piece of outdoor gear.

Yukio Yamai had lived his entire life in Sanjo City, in the Chetsu region of Niigata Prefecture, which is also known locally as a hardware town.  A range of mountains that rise up to an altitude of 1000m form a wall on the boundary between Niigata and Fukushima prefectures, and the rivers and streams born from the peaks and valleys, are the home of torrent fish, flow out to the East Japan Sea.  This rich environment full of sea, mountains, and rivers naturally evokes a strong interest in the outdoors in the people who are born and raised there.  It is this place that inspired Yukio, and to this day continues to inspire all of the products that come from Snow Peak.

Today we strive to create products that inspire people to enjoy the outdoors, we seek harmony between people and nature, and we look to manufacturer with such high quality standards that you’ll pass them on to the next generation like a great wrist watch. We are proud to announce the scheduled opening of our first USA retail store, set to open this Fall in Portland, Oregon. We will be proudly showcasing our entire product line as well as guest products.

Imagine that everyone could be able to process his own organic waste at home…

The size of the landfills would be reduced and the resources employed to pick up and dispose the waste would also be diminished.

Nobody likes to have organic waste hanging around the house. It smells bad, is difficult to handle, and carries diseases with it. 0ver 40% of the waste we produce everyday, is of this type.

Imagine being paid for your trash instead of paying to get rid of it…

Easy Compost is a device utilized to process organic waste at home, especially in the city where space is very limited. Because not everybody has a garden to make compost the traditional way, it was designed to operate inside of the house, in the kitchen right where most of the garbage is being produced.

It does not need electric power or chemicals to operate. It is made with recycled plastic and needs no screws or other additional mechanical unions.

The waste is turned into a useful material that is good for the environment.

Users and the environment would benefit from the compost being produced, as it could be used at home or it could be sold as well, therefore being an incentive for people to recycle.
